One day, Andraste
followed a hare on the path
through an ancient wood.
Keeping it from being prey,
the hare avoided danger.

She tricked the red fox
who burrowed his head beneath
a burrow she dug.

She crushed floral powders to dust
to outsmart the lynx’s nose.

Andraste grounded
an eagle who found the hare
with her sweetest song.
The lynx tried to claim the bird,
but Andraste set it free.
